CRGC’s stance on the New Zealand Attack – Ufaira Shaik

The death of 49 worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand was an act of terrorism, a clear manifestation of religious and ideological intolerance. To specifically target a house of worship on a day when attendance is guaranteed to be high, and then to livestream the massacre, shows a horrifying disregard and callousness for humanity and life. This was not a random act of violence of a disgruntled young man. This was a premeditated expression of hate that is reflective of an ideology that is unfortunately becoming more commonplace around the world.
We, at the CRGC, condemn these acts of terrorism and hate. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims—to those who lost loved ones and to those whose lives have been rocked once more by this senseless tragedy.
