Baljinder Singh
Sat Shri Akal! My name is Baljinder Singh, and I am currently a rising Junior at UW – Madison, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, pursuing a track in Bioinstrumentation. I am from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and I am a Sikh. Ever since I was a kid, my parents taught me many of the core values of Sikhi. Every Sunday I would spend my mornings at the Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) learning Paath (prayers) and Gurmukhi (Punjabi language). One of the core values I learned is Vand ke Chakna, which in simple terms is sharing with others. On top of sharing physical items, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others as well. As an Interfaith Fellow, this is a great opportunity to teach others about Sikhi, and not only teach, but learn about the other faiths on this campus. Engaging with others in Interfaith discussions will greatly increase my knowledge about different faiths and how people use their beliefs to go on about their lives. I am eager to learn more about other faiths through the Interfaith Fellow Program.
