Michelle Pan
Hello! My name is Xinyi Pan; you can call me Michelle. I am a junior pursuing a degree in Neurobiology with certificates in Biology Core Curriculum Honors and Health Policy. Being in both the United States and China, I have experienced the differences in how cultural variance impacts faith. My encounter with the various faiths in the US compared to the smaller but more culturally and philosophically driven faiths in China have instilled an interest and appreciation for diversity in thought and a commitment to fostering mutual respect across religious divides. As a Protestant Christian, I set to embark on a lifelong journey to deepen my understanding of my faith, its history, culture, and the ways that it drives my morals and develops my character. Through continuous exploration, I wish to contribute to the open dialogue of faiths, whether within or outside our meetings. I aspire to share my experiences and insights into the intersection of different faiths as well as the additional impacts of culture on faith. Throughout, I seek to gain discernment of all the nuances often overlooked when learning about faiths other than one’s own.
