Qawwali is a euphoric genre of music that has been used for centuries to spark religious devotion and bring listeners to a state of spiritual union with God. It is a form of Islamic devotion usually sung in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Farsi, and Bengali with a tabla and dhol, intended to bring listeners to a state of religious serenity.
Plus: one of our CRGC fellows will be speaking on behalf of the Center.
