rev. seigen johnson is an ordained Soto Zen Buddhist priest in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki. She recently graduated with a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology. seigen was a fellow in the BU Pardee School of Global Studies, Institute on Culture, Religion, and World Affairs: CURA 2021-2022 Colloquium. Her most recent article, “Being: Awakened by All Phenomena,” was published in the October 2019 issue of Lion’s Roar magazine. seigen has experience in religious conflict transformation and interfaith leadership. seigen’s research interests include Buddhist womanist hermeneutics, congregational trauma, liberation theologies, and interreligious leadership and learning. In her free time, you can find her reading, hiking, and trying to make “all the things” in her kitchen food lab.
